What Treatment Costs

Welcome to the MazeWoman with Stack of Files

Getting effective treatment for your child is a challenging task. Paying for it is another.

Parents have to navigate a maze of funding options that are confusing and frustrating. We have been through it. We hope we can make your job easier by sharing our experiences.

How do most families pay for it?

The low-end rate for residential treatment is $300 a day. That is nearly $110,000 per year. Most parents who send their children to residential treatment pay for the cost out of their own pockets. These are families in the upper-income bracket.

This guide is for the rest of us.

This guide was created to help parents locate sources of funding for their child’s treatment while in a residential treatment center. It provides actionable tools to successfully secure funds. It also contains specific information about potential sources of support from insurance companies, school districts, and loans, as well as resources for low-income families.

It is narrowly focused on how you can pay for your child's mental health care in a residential treatment center. It is for parents who have made the decision to place a child in treatment.
