Gateway to Education Funding
The first step in the process of obtaining school fund reimbursement for a portion of your child’s treatment is to call the local public school guidance counselor. You call the public school counselor EVEN if your child has never attended public school. The district is still responsible for a child’s education even if parents have opted out of the public system.
Your guidance counselor will make recommendations on evaluating your child and help you create your Individual Education Plan (IEP).
What to Expect
School counselors are certified/licensed educators with the minimum of a master’s degree in school counseling and are uniquely qualified to address the developmental needs of all students through a comprehensive school counseling program addressing the academic, career and personal/social development of all students.
